Redeemer Kids FAQs

WHAT IS REDEEMER KIDS?

Redeemer Kids Ministry is where young kids (6 months – 6 years old) go to be loved and learn about Jesus while the adults are in the main service. Our purpose is to partner with kids and their families to develop fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ. We strive to lay a foundation for our children to know Jesus as their personal Savior and give them the tools to impact their world.

WHAT IS IT LIKE?

In Redeemer Kids Ministry there are engaging lessons and meaningful relationships formed. Beginning at two years old we have intentional teaching programs we use with the kids that includes a short video, hands-on activities, and games centered around a Bible passage. Redeemer Tots (ages 2-3) and Redeemer Kids (ages 4-6) classrooms use lessons from LifeWay’s Gospel Project for kids. Each classroom group has two pre-screened and trained church members on Sunday mornings.

In Redeemer Kids Ministry we want to teach our children how to worship God! While Redeemer Babies and Redeemer Tots are checked into their classroom prior to the start of service, Redeemer Kids check-in at the entrance to the church but sit and worship with their parents in the service until dismissed to go with their teachers before the sermon begins.

Children that are in 1st - 5th grades are encouraged to use the provided Sermon Notes and Sermon Activity Pages to engage in the service. These may be found in the white bags at the Redeemer Kids Check-in podium upon entering the church. Please return the bags at the end of the service.

IT’S OUR FIRST TIME. WHAT DO WE DO?

If your kids have never been with us before, then come to the main entrance and we will walk you through the process of getting them checked-in at the check-in podium. Your first time checking in you will fill out a registration card with important information about you and your kids. This card will be given to your child’s teacher and if your child is ages 3 years old or under, you will be led to your child’s classroom. For children ages 4-6 years old, your child will be dismissed during the service prior to the start of the sermon to their teacher that checked you in. You will pick up your child from the room where you dropped them off or, in the case of Redeemer Kids, you may pick up your child in the far corner room next to the mural wall in the Fellowship Hall. Your child will only be released to a parent.

WHAT IF I NEED TO STEP OUT WITH MY BABY?

For mothers who wish to keep their babies in service with them but need to step out, we have provided a space for you to privately meet the needs of you little one. The cry room is located just outside the doors of the Main Hall. It is a cool, quiet, comfortable room complete with a changing table, diapers, wipes, rocking chairs, bottled water, snacks, a privacy window, and a speaker that allows you to hear entire worship service while also caring for your little one.

WHAT IF MY CHILD NEEDS ME?

The teachers will text you during the service if your child needs to use the restroom for Redeemer Tots or if there are any concerns. A child will not cry for longer than 10 minutes without us contacting you.

WHAT IF MY CHILD HAS ALLERGIES?

We want to know! You can tell us about them when you initially fill out your information card. We encourage you to remind the teacher when you drop them off. We do NOT serve or allow snacks in the children’s ministry. On occasion, activities or crafts may contain items that we would need to know allergy information for.

WHAT IF MY CHILD HAS SPECIAL NEEDS?

Families who have children with special needs are cared for in special ways! Please contact us so that we may know how to best serve you.
