Below, we’ve answered a few questions that visitors tend to have when looking for a church home.
What to Expect:
What are your services like?
When you arrive you’ll be welcomed by our church members. If you have children who will participate in Redeemer Kids ministry, we’ll help you check them in.
If you have a young child 6 months old through 3 years old, they are welcome to stay in our Babies & Tots classroom for the entirety of the service where they will play with two of our church member volunteers.
Our services last about 90 minutes. In the first half of the service, we sing, read God’s Word, and pray. During the second half of the service, we hear an expositional sermon from a passage of Scripture.
Children aged 4-6 are dismissed before the sermon to Redeemer Kids, where they will be taught about Christ from the Bible and with the help of crafts, games, and music.
What style of music should I expect?
We believe the music we sing should be Christ-exalting, God-glorifying, and Scripture-saturated. We use instruments to encourage the congregation to lift their voices to Jesus with freedom and joy. Our music ranges from 16th Century hymns to modern-day choruses. What’s most important to us is congregational singing—which prioritizes the church singing over musical performance.
What should I wear when I come?
Regarding attire, you’ll see some wearing jeans and others wearing pants and a jacket. We encourage you to wear what makes you feel comfortable. We’re most concerned simply to serve you and your relationship with the Lord. The Lord is most concerned with the heart, not your attire.
What should I do with my children?
Parents are welcome to keep their children in the service with them, and many families choose to do this. We also offer children’s ministry during the sermon through the end of the service (4 years old through 6 years old), and during the entirety of the service for children ages 4 years old and under.
Do you take communion (the Lord’s Supper)?
Communion is taken on the second Sunday of every month as a symbolic ordinance. Rooted in the Second London Baptist Confession of 1689, it serves as a memorial of Christ’s once-for-all sacrifice, a public proclamation of the gospel, and a sign of spiritual nourishment for believers. The elements of bread and grape juice are distributed on plates to the congregation and believers are encouraged to participate.
